| About

This event is an immersive performance where song and dance merge with the poems about the fate of Maria Stuart and Mathilde Wesendonck.

Robert Schumann composed the music to the poems of Maria and Richard Wagner to the poems of Mathilde.

The content of the poems is far apart. They lived in different times but had very much in common.

They were both passionate and full of vigor, but fate created a different destiny for them. Neither of them lived free and both were in a way victims of oppression.

Maria was assassinated after political power struggles and Mathilde had to live by society´s expectations and scarifice Wagner´s love for her.
