LA BOHEME - PREMIERE ON MARCH 16TH AT 8 PM |
 The Icelandic Opera will stage Giacomo Puccini’s well known opera, La Bohème, in March and April 2012. A total of six performances of La bohème will take place in Harpa; on Friday March 16th (premiere), Saturday March 17th, Saturday March 31st, Sunday April 1st, Saturday April 14th and Friday April 20th. All performances start at 8 pm. General ticket price is ISK 8.000.

THE MAGIC FLUTE RECEIVES FOURS STARS IN OPERA NOW MAGAZINE |
 The Icelandic Opera‘s production of The Magic Flute received four stars in the latest issue of Opera Now magazine. The critic, Neil Jones, came to Iceland in October specifically to attend the premiere of The Icelandic Opera‘s Magic Flute.

LISTEN TO A RECORDING OF THE MAGIC FLUTE |

 A recording of The Icelandic Opera‘s production of The Magic Flute was performed on Icelandic National Radio on Christmas Day. The recording was made on November 19th, starring Thora Einarsdottir as Pamina, Finnur Bjarnason as Tamino, Johann Sævarsson as Sarastro, Sigrun Hjálmtýsdóttir as Queen of the Night, Agust Olafsson as Papageno, Valgerður Guðnadóttir as Papagena, Viðar Gunnarsson and Kolbeinn Ketilsson as two priests, Hulda Björk Garðarsdóttir, Auður Gunnarsdóttir and Sigridur Ósk Kristjánsdóttir the three ladies and Pétur Úlfarsson, Jasmín Kristjánsdóttir og Birta Dröfn Valsdóttir as the three boys.
